Integration into Europe: Identifying a Muslim Effect

This paper introduces a solution to a previously intractable measurement problem on a politically sensitive social issue – that of the integration of Muslims into Europe. The resulting measure, if valid, would tell us if Muslim immigrants and their descendents in country x face higher barriers to social and economic integration than if everything about these migrants were the same except for their religion.
